Application Process

Children applying must be 3 years old on or before September 1st of the school year they wish to attend. Children turning 6 years of age are only eligible to attend if they turn 6 after the cutoff date for MUSD (usually September 1 or 2.)

  • Learn more about our program to see if our style of education is a good fit for your family’s needs! You can find the answers to almost every question on our Early Childhood page. You can also download our information sheet here.

We cannot offer a tour before you request enrollment, but we prepared a detailed virtual tour of our classrooms here!

  • Click here to submit your enrollment request.

  • After we receive your enrollment request, we will reach out via email to schedule a 45-minute interview via video chat.

Interviews are a chance for our staff to learn more about your family’s interest in our program and your needs for the upcoming school year. We are looking to learn more about your child’s interests, areas of strength, and areas where they or you are experiencing challenges or friction. We’re also excited to hear about why you’d like to work with us!

Interviews are NOT a test, they are an opportunity for your family and our staff to determine if we’re a good fit, and to make space for all your questions.

  • If you are accepted into our program, the next and last step is for you to complete your child’s enrollment paperwork through the Playground app. (You created a login for Playground when you submited your enrollment request)

We will schedule an in-person visit at the classroom before your child’s first day. The timing is up to you! If you have questions about our contract, we can meet before paperwork is completed. Or if you prefer, you can fill out all forms before visiting.

When you visit the classroom, we will":

    • Orient you to our learning spaces

    • Schedule your volunteer shifts for the school year

    • Give you and your child to explore our space before our first day together!

We know it can be hard to find time to research programs when you’re parenting young children. For ease, we have thoughtfully answered all of the most frequently-asked questions about scholarships, schedules, our approach to learning, and other essential info on our Early Childhood Program page.
